What is Breast Lift/Mammoplasty in Belgium

Breast lift or mastopexy is a surgical procedure aimed at raising and reshaping sagging breasts by removing excess skin, tightening the surrounding tissue, and repositioning the nipples to a higher, more youthful position on the chest. This procedure can help improve breast firmness, symmetry, and overall appearance, resulting in a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing breast contour.

The protocol for breast lift always starts by a consultation: The process begins with a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast surgery. During this consultation, the surgeon will evaluate the patient's medical history, assess their breast anatomy, discuss their goals and expectations for surgery, and explain the available options for breast lift techniques and incision patterns.

The consultation is done online, the surgeon only need to receive photos from side and front without bra. Then he or she will issue a medical quote.

If the quote is accepted, the protocol will be sent and prior to the surgery, the patient will undergo a comprehensive medical evaluation, including a physical examination and possibly additional tests such as mammograms or breast imaging studies.

The protocol always includes 1 night in Clinic and discharge is provided to the patient after several days. Therefore according to each Clinic protocol you might need to stay from 2 to 6 days in hotel.

Breast lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia to ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure. The procedure involves several steps:incision placement: Once the patient is under anesthesia, the surgeon will make the predetermined incisions in the breast tissue, carefully considering factors such as the degree of ptosis (sagging), the amount of excess skin to be removed, and the desired nipple position. Common incision patterns used in breast lift surgery include the periareolar (around the nipple), vertical (lollipop), and anchor (inverted T) incisions. After creating the incisions, the surgeon will lift and reshape the breast tissue to achieve a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing contour. This may involve repositioning the nipples to a higher position on the chest, removing excess skin, and tightening the surrounding tissue to improve breast firmness and symmetry. Once the tissue adjustments are made, the surgeon will close the incisions using sutures or surgical adhesive and apply sterile dressings or surgical tape to protect the incision sites. Some surgeons may also use surgical drains to remove excess fluid and minimize post-operative swelling.

The usual protocol for breast lift is day 1: laboratory tests and consultations (surgeon and anesthesiologist)/ day 2: surgery and night in clinic / day 3 to day 5 or day 7: rest in hotel and discharge from the surgeon before going back home.

Breast lift surgery is a safe and effective procedure for improving breast shape, firmness, and symmetry, providing women with enhanced confidence and satisfaction with their appearance.

Breast Lift/Mammoplasty in Belgium

Clinics and hospitals in Belgium is something local. As the country has Dutch and French speaking areas, most hospitals and clinics are managed by local municipalities. Also Belgium covers all type of treatment and the number of medical centers is well sorted between clinics and hospitals. Some hospitals offer a large number of beds and therefore the number of clinics and hospitals is not the main thing but the overall number of beds offered by all medical centers. Most clinics are around the capital, Bruxels but you will find clinics in Flemish part in Bruges, Ostend but also Ypres or Kortrijk, Many clinics are JCI accredited and well rated. You can also find in Ghent a medical Universtiy as well as close to Antwerp. Bruxels and its surroundings offers by far the largest medical offer for local and international patients with various CHU or local Hospitals in Bruxels. Each block of the capital has its own hospital and when it comes to the French speaking part you will find CHU in Liege, Namur or Charleroy for instance. Dental centers are everywhere in Belgium but not so many have their own laboratories for dental implants and crown implants.
