Hospital Saint Lazarus

Overview

The Saint Lazar was built in 2005. The purpose of establishing the hospital is to provide to the Bulgarian families the precious ability to protect the future of their kids, making use of one of the modern achievements of modern medicine, whose full potential remains to be revealed.

Saint Lazar is the pioneer in processing and preservation of stem cells from umbilical cord blood in Bulgaria, “Saint Lazar” is well equipped according to the highest international standards, and Saint Lazar always developing the skills of its highly trained specialists. The leader of the team is Dr. Gurcheva MD, who was trained in the area of stem cells in Paris, Berlin, Hanover and Rome. Dr. Gurcheva MD became part of the team in 1997 that successfully carried out the first bone marrow transplantation in Bulgaria, and at the presently, Dr. Gurcheva MD is also a national consultant for the government's Agency for Transplantations.
