Fertility preservation treatments is a technique that consist of freezing (or vitrifying) and storing gametes for their posterior use when the needs for pregnancy arises.
There is no time limit in gamete preservation, which means that gametes can remain frozen or vitrified until the patient decides to use them.
To freeze sperm or eggs, the patient must be free of infectious or contagious diseases. For this reason, patients must undergo specific serology blood tests before the preservation process can be carried out.
