Skin whitening injections, also known as intravenous glutathione injections, are non academic cosmetic procedure used to lighten the skin tone and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. Glutathione is a naturally occurring antioxidant produced by the body that plays a role in various physiological processes, including detoxification and skin health. In the context of skin whitening, glutathione is believed to exert its effects by inhibiting melanin production, the pigment responsible for skin color.

Skin whitening injections typically involve the intravenous (IV) administration of glutathione, either alone or in combination with other ingredients such as vitamin C or collagen. The injections are usually administered in a series of sessions, with the frequency and duration of treatment determined by the provider based on the patient's skin type, desired results, and response to treatment. Some providers may offer a loading dose phase, where higher doses of glutathione are initially administered to accelerate skin lightening, followed by maintenance doses to sustain the results. It is recommended for phototypes above IV to have two double injections per week of 1200mg of glutathione associated with 500mg of vitamin C. The more diverse is the range of antioxydants the best results you will get as you need to reduce your melanin rate and at the same time need detoxification, antiaging, hydratation, fight free radicals etc.

Ideally injections, when possible, are done slowly as IV and not IM and before going to bed. It is not suitable for pregnant women and those that have liver problems.

Injections to whiten your skin are not medicine and are classified as natural supplements with many other benefits than skin whitening.
