What is Invisalign in Spain

Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that uses clear, custom-made aligners to gradually straighten teeth and correct bite issues without the need for traditional metal braces. The process begins with an initial consultation with a qualified orthodontist or dentist who is trained in providing Invisalign treatment. During this consultation, the orthodontist will evaluate the patient's dental condition, including tooth alignment, bite issues, and overall oral health, and discuss the patient's goals and expectations for treatment.

Using the 3D virtual model of the patient's teeth, the orthodontist will design a series of clear aligners that are custom-made to fit snugly over the teeth and gradually move them into the desired positions. Each set of aligners is worn for about 1-2 weeks before being replaced with the next set in the series. Once the custom aligners are fabricated, the patient will return to the orthodontist's office to receive their first set of aligners and instructions on how to wear and care for them properly. The orthodontist will demonstrate how to insert and remove the aligners, as well as provide guidance on wearing them for the recommended amount of time each day.

Invisalign aligners should be worn for at least 20-22 hours per day, removing them only for eating, drinking (except for water), brushing, and flossing. The patient will progress through the series of aligners, wearing each set for the prescribed amount of time before moving on to the next set. Throughout the course of treatment, the patient will have periodic check-up appointments with the orthodontist to monitor progress and ensure that the teeth are moving as planned. Adjustments to the treatment plan may be made as needed based on the patient's response to treatment and any changes in the dental condition.

In some cases, additional sets of aligners, known as refinement aligners, may be provided to fine-tune the final tooth positions and optimize the bite alignment. Once the desired results are achieved, the patient will transition to wearing retainers to maintain the newly aligned teeth and prevent them from shifting back over time.

Invisalign treatment offers a discreet, convenient, and effective alternative to traditional braces for correcting a wide range of orthodontic issues, including crowding, spacing, overbites, underbites, and crossbites.
